NAXALS - who are they ??

Who are naxals?? Naxals , or left wing extremists are at war with Indian states since 1967. They have succeeded in carving out a large chunk of area from nepal to karnataka covering a total area of 92,000 sq. km.Indian government is solely responsible for the growth of NAXALS , and they are now seen as the biggest internal security risk for India . Our government never looked after those tribes , who needed more protective government and upliftment  than any of us needed and   they where left ignored . why ??

The British left these areas isolated labelling them “excluded” from governance (for their own convenience). After independence ,We the brown rulers too never bothered about our fellow countrymen living in isolated regions , leaving them to the mercy of forest officers.The forest officers acted as if they were still the part of British East India Company and ill treated the tribes. Thus left wing extremists rose up to fill the vacuum between the children's of forest (tribal people) and government. They exploited the isolation and exploitation of the tribal by state officials and money lenders to strengthen their force. The aim of NAXALs is to destroy Indian states and replace it with a communist state following  the Maoist ideology. Through all these years , Indian Government pretended that it was a mere a law and order problem. only in 2006 ,India's intelligence agency , the Research and Analysis Wing estimated that 20,000 armed cadre naxalities were operating in addition to 50,000 regular cadres. This prompted the then Prime Minister Dr. ManMohan Singh to declare them to be most internal threat to India's National security .

At last our government came to remedy by announcing a nationwide initiative , to be called the "Integrated Action Plan "for broad, and co ordinated operations aimed at dealing with the Naxals. Major issue this organisation dealt with were Funding the grass root economic development projects in Naxalite- affected areas , as well increased special funding for better containment and reduction of Naxalite influence in these areas.
